This guide covers the essential steps for each of our mushroom grow kits, along with answers to common questions about humidity, lighting, watering, and harvesting.

Each mushroom variety has its own rhythm follow the instructions, keep conditions stable, and your kit will do the rest.

If you’re ever unsure, this is your go-to reference for a smooth and successful grow.

Lion’s Mane Grow Kit Guide

What you need:
✔ Your grow kit
✔ Spray bottle (clean water)
✔ A spot with indirect light

Steps:

  1. Cut an “X” on the front of the bag where the substrate is exposed.
  2. Mist the cut area lightly 2–3 times per day.
  3. Place the kit in a bright spot (no direct sun).
  4. Keep airflow around the kit (don’t seal it).

What to expect:

  • Small white “pom-poms” form in 5–10 days
  • Ready to harvest when spines start to elongate but before yellowing

Harvest:

  • Twist gently at the base

Repeat the process for another few times to get multiple flushes

Oyster Mushroom Grow Kit Guide

What you need:

✔ Indirect light

Steps:

  3. Place in a well-lit, ventilated area (no direct sun).

Important:

  • Oysters need fresh air → avoid closed spaces
  • Dry air = small caps → keep humidity consistent

What to expect:

  • Pins appear in 3–7 days
  • Harvest when caps flatten but edges are still slightly curved

Harvest:

  • Twist and pull the whole cluster

Repeat the process for another few times to get multiple flushes

King Oyster Grow Kit Guide (Top Fruiting Method)

What you need:
✔ Spray bottle
✔ Plastic bag (to act as humidity tent)

Steps:

  1. Open the top of the bag completely.
  2. Place a loose plastic bag over the top to create a humidity tent.
  3. Mist inside the tent, not directly soaking the substrate.
  4. Keep slight airflow (don’t seal the tent fully).

Environment:

  • Bright indirect light
  • Stable humidity

What to expect:

  • Thick stems with small caps form
  • Slower but more structured growth than oysters

Harvest:

  • Cut at the base when caps are still compact

Repeat the process for another few times to get multiple flushes

Shiitake Grow Kit Guide (Humidity Tent Method)

What you need:
✔ Plastic bag (humidity tent)
✔ No spray bottle needed

Steps:

  1. Open the bag to expose the block slightly.
  2. Place the entire kit inside a loose plastic bag (humidity tent).
  3. Do NOT mist directly on the block.
  4. Keep the environment humid using the tent only.

Environment:

  • Cool to moderate temperature
  • Indirect light

What to expect:

  • Brown caps form slowly
  • Stronger, denser mushrooms

Harvest:

  • Pick when caps open ~70–80%
